For more than three years, First Fridays at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts has been the hottest place to be in Montgomery. This exciting event happens the first Friday night of every month offering you a place to relax, listen to great music, and look at extraordinary fine art. Each month showcases a different musical group and a wine sampling.
On April 4, the MMFA will hold a special edition First Fridays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm featuring Montana Skies. Montana Skies has created a “new acoustic” sound with their pairing of cello, six-string electric cello, Spanish/classical guitar, and steel string guitar. This dynamic duo delve into music from Pink Floyd and Rush to Vivaldi, House of the Rising Sun, and Bach, as well as their own award-winning originals that have been featured everywhere from NPR to the Travel Channel. Using a wide range of effects, Jennifer Adams' blazing electric cello and Jonathan Adam's guitar wizardry combine to create a sound that is truly remarkable. Montana Skies has an extensive tour schedule that has taken them all across the U.S., Canada and to Asia.
The evening will feature special admission prices of $25 for guests and $20 for members of the MMFA which will include reserved seating and a special boxed dinner. The dinner features mixed field greens with balsamic dressing; cranberry rice pilaf topped with grilled chicken medallions; sliced ciabatta bread, and a sliced brownie wedge.
Please reserve your spot for this old favorite with a new twist by Wednesday, March 26 by contacting the museum at 334.240.4333. For more information, visit MMFA.org. |
